Articles of Health: Can You Over Alkalize?

There are NO dis-ease or diseases without being too acidic. You cannot have loss of energy, irritation, catarrh, inflammation, ulceration or degeneration without metabolic, dietary, respiratory or environmental acid.

You cannot be sick and alkaline.

So if the body needs no help in adjusting its pH then why does it get sick. When we understand that the body is alkaline by design and acidic by function then we understand that the body does need help in maintaining its alkaline design with proper alkaline food, drink, exercise, thoughts and deeds. The basic knowledge that the body is alkaline by design and acidic by function is NOT taught at medical school. In fact, current medical savants no nothing about tissue acidosis or what I call “latent tissue acidosis” and the cause of dis-ease or disease.

What is “latent tissue acidosis”?

It is the buildup of acidic dietary and/or metabolic acids that are not properly eliminated through the four channels of elimination – bowels, kidney, lungs and/or skin which are then eliminated or deposited into the connective and/or fatty tissues. The body must eliminate its dietary and/or metabolic waste products from the blood via these four channels of elimination or the blood will lose its alkaline iso-struture and an the result would be death.

Current medical savants are absolutely wrong when they state that the body needs absolutely no help in adjusting its pH. The body needs a continued supply of alkalinity to buffer or neutralize the acids of environment, stress, diet and metabolism. Everyday the body produces more acids then the body can keep up with. Metabolism of a normal adult diet results in the generation of 50 to 100 meq of H+ or proton or acid per day, which must be excreted if the alkaline acid-base balance is to be maintained. A meq is a milliequivalent which is an expression of concentration of substance per liter of solution, calculated by dividing the concentration in milligrams per 100 milliliters by the molecular weight. This process involves two basis steps; 1) the reabsorption of the filtered sodium bicarbonate or NaHCO3 and, 2) excretion of the 50 to 100 meq of H+ or proton or acid produced each day by the formation of titratable acidity and NH4+ or ammonium. Both steps involve H+ or proton or acid secretion from the cells of the kidney into the urine. That is why we age. Aging is actually a fermenting and acidic process. The body has an alkaline buffering system which helps to maintain alkalinity, but when this becomes compromised from an over acidic lifestyle and diet, you start having the symptoms of dis-ease or disease caused by metabolic acidic waste products. It is absolutely essential that you make daily attempts to increase alkalinity with alkaline ionized water with a pH of at least 9.5 and food to prevent and/or reverse dis-ease or disease.

How does a person measure the acid/base of the blood when the blood is always maintaining its delciate pH balance at 7.365?

Any excess acidity from diet or metabolism is eliminated from the blood and out into the connective tissues to preserve its delicate pH balance. The biochemistry in maintaining blood alkalinity is quite extreme. The body will sacrifice all other organs and organ systems to maintain the delicate pH balance of the blood at 7.365.

Manufacturers of water ionizers state that their products produce more alkaline water, which allows your body to better absorb minerals and antioxidants from water. Are these health claims real? Do you recommend ionizers?

Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D. states “Home water ionizers, which I’ve seen offered for sale on the internet, are just the latest twist in the ongoing effort to promote the notion that alkaline water is somehow protective of your health. The underlying idea is that you can prevent disease by balancing your body’s pH. Promoters claim that alkaline water is energizing, hydrates the body more effectively than regular water, improves the taste of food when used in cooking, promotes “regularity,” helps the body absorb nutrients more effectively, and on and on. I’ve even seen claims that it can cure everything from obesity and high blood pressure to breast cancer.

None of these claims are true. Furthermore, your body needs absolutely no help in adjusting its pH.”

Acid Blood Kills, Alkaline Blood Lives – Simple Solutions with Baking Soda

This article originates from an email inquiry I received concerning the John Kanzius invention. He built an apparatus that sends radio waves into humans with the claim that it may kill cancer cells — sounds promising.

In the email inquiry, I was asked to comment on the CBS 60 Minutes news story about John Kanzius that ran April 13, 2008.

My Response: My best guess is negative ions (or, maybe a relationship). One form of negative ions is the unseen particles of electricity that come in with thunderstorms and momentarily make us feel like “hippies on drugs” (not that I know anything about that). A simple Internet search on negative ions revealed the information (ions, not hippies). Research shows that negative ions put the body in a temporary alkaline pH state. Most humans are in an acid pH state … cancer wards are full of ’em.

Theoretically (in my humble opinion, of course), negative ions have a common bond to the positive feelings we get from meditation. Regular/consistent meditation is associated with relaxed states-of-mind — a stress antagonist. Stress is a major contributor to acid pH in our blood/bodies.

As we buffer our acid-state in consistent manners (meditation, smart eats, baking soda, etc.), a healthier alkaline condition becomes the norm. In addition, nutritional supplements are assimilated more effectively/efficiently in an alkaline body.

Bacteria and Virus Refuse to Live in Alkalinity

This baking soda article and this article are a couple of the best I’ve found on the pH factor in relationship to many disease-states. Harmful bacteria, virus, herpes (cold sores, etc.) and cancer, thrive in acidity.

Stress, bad eating habits, pesticides, alcohol, pollution, etcetera, turn our bodies into “acid smorgasbords” — the perfect environment for destroying our bodies in a slow/painful manner. In addition, heartburn, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, and more are well-known maladies related to acid blood levels. The bottom line … bacteria and virus will vacate your premises to find a more suitable acid-home as long as you keep your body in a state of alkalinity. By maintaining your drinking/baking soda water at 7.2 to 7.5 pH, you are greatly enhancing your body’s ability to prevent any of the above.

Of all Things … Baking Soda?

Studies in respected medical journals worldwide consistently support the use of a simple dirt-cheap product for reversing acidity — baking soda. Since there’s no money in baking soda for drug companies, its excluded from medical school curriculum and/or associated health training/education.

The Alkaline pH of the Body: The Key to Prevention

After 25 years of research studying the affects lifestyle and diet on the pH of the blood, I have learned that the human organism is alkaline by design and acidic in all of its functions. If one can maintain the delicate alkaline pH of all the body fluids bathing every cell from within and from without at 7.365 then life will continue without pain, suffering, sickness or disease.

Louis Pasteur’s germ theory has become a curse. Antoine BeChamp an adversary to Pasteur and his germ theory for scientific fraud said this about the germ theory, “there is nothing so false that does not contain some element of truth, and so it is with the germ theory.” The germ theory is the controlling medical idea for the world. In Pasteur’s day, and ever since, other proposed theories about the cause of disease have fallen on death ear because they have tended to contradict that paradigm. NO matter how simple and logical an idea about the cause of disease, if it does not promote the concept of invasion of germs and their specific cures it does not fit into the medical paradigm.

More importantly, the germ theory has become a curse because it has encouraged individuals to give up responsibility for their own health over to the medical community. If germs cause disease it stands to reason that control belongs to the medical community whose tireless researchers spend trillions of our money to find the right pill or potion to annihilate disease-causing germs.

This quest to cure disease through medication is at the heart of modern allopathic medicine and the multi-trillion dollar pharmaceutical industry. It is a quest that persists despite evidence indicating that airborne germs do not cause the disease for which they are credited. After more than a century of trying, the Pasteurian germ theory has utterly failed in the quest to a cure for any disease. All major degenerative diseases are on the increase, as are so called infectious diseases which are not infectious at all. Every year, old symptoms are given new names – names like MS for polio, AIDS for poor sanitation, poor nutrition, poor lifestyle choices and drug use, Epstein-Barr virus for connective tissue disorders like fibramyalgia – to make them appear to be the work of a new germ. Unless we turn this nonsense around, the human race could become extinct like the dinosaurs from the treatments of modern medicine to kill a non- threatening or phantom germ.

If we want to find the cure for disease we need only to look at our dietary and lifestyle choices. If you heed the ignored, even rejected discoveries of Pasteur’s peers and scientists of the 19th and 20th century, adding those to my own discoveries, you will learn the true cause of disease. Until the medical community starts looking at causes rather than devoting its time looking for cures, and until we start taking responsibility for our own lifestyle and dietary choices, I believe the human race is in trouble of becoming extinct.

The National Cancer Institute Cancer Program For Prevention and Treatment From 1975 to 2007 – A Dismal Failure

I have assessed the U.S. Natioal Cancer Program for prevention and treatment of various cancers using surgery, radiation and chemotherapy by analyzing the overall incidence and mortality rates of all cancers combined. The statistics used for the analysis are from the period 1975 to 2007 which include 1) the incidence rates of males and females, 2) the number of Americans afficted with a cancer, 3) the mortality rates of males and females and 4) the number of Americans who died from a cancer.

Two criteria were used to assess the progam of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in preventing cancer: thie incidence rate and the number of Americans afflicted by a cancer. A constant or increasing incidence rate over time, along with increasednumbers of those afflited indicates a dismal failure of the NCI program in the prevention of cancer. Also, if the incidence rate declines but the number of people afflicted increases, the NCI prevention program is deemed a dismal failure. A declining incidence rate, along with a declining number of those diagnosed with any specific cancer, however, indicates succes in the prevention of cancer.

The criteria used to assess the treatment side of the NCI program were the mortality rate and the numbers of Americans died from a specific cancer. A constant or increasing mortality rate of a cancer over time, along with increased numbers of deaths, indicates a failure of the NCI program in the treatment of cancer.

Obesity expert: Sugar is toxic and should be regulated – opinion – 28 September 2011

While I agree that sugar should be reduced or virtually eliminated in the diet for optimal health, as Robert Lustig does,  I do not agree with draconian/authoritarian approaches to reduce sugar consumption.  To establish a sugar regulatory scheme, would further erode individual rights and hamper the food freedom movement by setting the dangerous precedent that the government knows best what substances you can or can not consume.  I fear this type of expanded regulatory p0wer would be used to deny access to scientifically proven natural cures that are opposed by the pharmaceutical industry and the FDA.  The establishment of a “sugar police”,  further entrenches the Federal Government’s interference in your life and needlessly expands the rapidly growing police state in America.   A better approach  for a free society is to inform consumers of the dangers of sugar, and persuade them to voluntarily make healthy dietary choices.

Your lecture on sugar has been viewed more than 1.6 million times on YouTube. Why do you think it’s had so much attention?

The obesity epidemic just gets worse and people are looking for answers. Diet and exercise don’t work and the idea that obesity is about personal responsibility has come into question. Many people have said sugar is bad, but they didn’t supply the biochemistry. I supplied that.

Do you think fructose – which along with glucose makes table sugar – drives obesity?

I don’t think fructose is the cause of obesity, but I do think it is the thing that takes you from obesity to metabolic syndrome, and that’s where the healthcare dollars go – diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease.

So the idea that “a calorie is a calorie” is wrong?

As far as I’m concerned that’s how we got into this mess. If a calorie is a calorie, the solution is eat less and exercise more. Except it doesn’t work. And the reason is that fructose is toxic beyond its caloric equivalent, so if you consume it instead of glucose you get more of a negative effect even if the calories are the same. It’s important that people recognise that the quality of our diet also dictates the quantity. In addition, “eat less” is a really crappy message that doesn’t work. “Eat less sugar” is a message that people can get their heads around.
